Sticker, Pete, and Heart

Jack has had a pretend pet snake that he's been carrying around carefully in his cupped hands for about a month. It used to be an orange snake. But Jack put it into his color machine and it changed into a purple snake. It says silly words like "door" and "spoon" and "wall" or whatever Jack happens to be thinking about at that particular moment.

A few weeks ago he asked when we could get a real pet (a question we knew would come someday). He didn't have to wait as long as we thought we'd hold out! On Saturday we took the kids to the pet store and acquired some new family members--three lovely goldfish and a tank to hold them.

Jack named his fish Sticker. Olivia named her fish Pete. Anna named her fish Heart (well, Jack named it for her).

Here's to a long life for our three little goldfish and our first real pet experience with kids!
